Tiki Tiki
takes you on a journey to the islands of Hawai'i. One step into this
restaurant bar and you'll find yourself in a different world. You
will be greeted by a life-size tiki with sparkling eyes, and waiters
in aloha shirts and short sarongs. The restaurant's jungle motif,
accented with the sounds of waterfalls and roaming wildlife is
enchanting. Every hour, the Kuuleinani dancers do several hula
numbers, just like the real Hawaiian thing, and if you're lucky,
you'll be able to see a volcano erupt on center stage! To top it off,
contemporary Hawaiian music from the islands' hottest artists ripples
through the venue.
The food is izakaya-style: a mix of Pacific Rim and Asian cuisines served in small dishes. The grilled chicken with coconut tastes similar to Hawaii-an huli-huli. The spicy lomi-lomi salmon (lomi-lomi means massage) garnished with tomato and onion is quite authentic. A fun dish to try is the fried rice served in a half-chopped pineapple. Also, this is the place to go for a wide variety of blended drinks: anything from a Blue Hawai'i or Lei-Lei to fresh juice served in a carved fruit shell. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is Hawai'i itself, and the prices are definitely reasonable. If you can't travel to the real Hawaiian islands, Tiki Tiki is the next best thing. As to be expected of such a restaurant, the menu is in English.
