Minato Mirai 21(MM21)


MM21 is waterfront area in the city center redevelopment project and one of Japan's biggest projects.

Minato Mirai 21 today is half city, half construction site. Already complete (as of September 1994) are buildings - including Japan's tallest - that contain more than 580,000 square feet) of floor space. Under Construction are buildings that will add 570,000 square meters to that total.

Minato Mirai 21 already is becoming an international community - a community that continues the Yokohama tradition of promoting international exchange. That community already is the site of business negotiation, trade exhibition, and various conferences that bring together participants from around the world.

As of June 1994, some 14,000 people worked at the offices, shops, and other facilities that had opend there.
